7 TV Shows You Should Be Watching On Netflix

As the popularity of Netflix's Instant Streaming service increases, more and more fantastic TV shows are being put up. This not only allows people to catch up with popular shows like How I Met Your Mother or 30 Rock, it also allows viewers to discover shows they weren't able to catch while they were airing. Here are 6 shows to keep your eye out for while browsing through your Netflix que.

7. The Munsters
Normally forgotten for it's more popular cousin The Addams Family, The Munsters is a great horror-themed comedy show about a family of monsters living in the suburbs. Despite being almost 50 years old, The Munsters is still an extremely enjoyable show with cheesy special effects and goofy, slapstick humor that people of all ages can sit down and enjoy. What's even better is that you can watch the show in any order, because there is no long-term plot line that needs to be followed.
Episodes To Watch: "Hot Rod Herman"

6. Kenny vs. Spenny

Have the early seasons of Jackass left you wanting more hilarious pranks and less grown men punching each other in the crotch for no reason? This ridiculous Canadian show features two friends competing in insane competitions that usually end in utter humiliation and self-deprecation. Kenny and Spenny are both very different people with completely opposite personalities. A show about prank competitions sounds run-of-the-mill, but I can assure you, Kenny vs. Spenny is far from normal. Past pranks have included secretly giving Spenny LSD and forging a letters about HIV, and competitions have included avoiding getting a boner and committing the most crimes.  This is show is absolutely hilarious and is completely underrated, and with only 10 episodes streaming, it's certainly worth spending an afternoon laughing your head off.
Episodes To Watch: "Who Can Be Tied to a Goat Longest"

5. The Twilight Zone
Everyone knows about the anthology-style science fiction series The Twilight Zone, but unfortunately not many people have actually seen some of the best episodes. The entire original series is now up on Netflix, with every classic episode available for your viewing pleasure. Obviously, you can pick this show up at any point and watch the episodes in a random order, but a simple Google search will help you flesh out the best episodes of this amazing show.
Episodes To Watch: "Eye of the Beholder" "Will The Real Martian Please Stand Up?"

4. Firefly
There are legions of science fiction fans who believe that, if it had not been cancelled so early, Firefly could've been the greatest sci-fi series in TV history. Due to it's unfortunate cancellation, Firefly is a very short series with only one season and a movie, Serenity, which is also streaming on Netflix. Despite the immense praise this show gets, it doesn't look like it's coming back any time soon.
Episodes To Watch: "Serenity"

3. Twin Peaks
Of all the shows on this list, there's no doubt about Twin Peaks being the strangest. The show, created by David Lynch, is a surrealistic murder-mystery story set in a strange, rural town in the mountains. As FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper investigates the unusual murder of a teenage girl, the town's facade begins to fall down around him, revealing the truth behind it all. Definitely not a show for the casual viewer, Twin Peaks is the kind of experience where you just have to take it for what it is and, for the sake of saving yourself a lot of time, don't ask too many questions about what exactly is going on.
Episodes To Watch: "Arbitrary Law"

2. Arrested Development

When it comes to cult TV shows, Arrested Development is, and always will be, the best one out there. Odd, quirky, and completely hilarious, this show is everything you could want from a smart comedy. What is especially special about this show is that it was cancelled in 2006, but after fan outcry, Netflix picked up the rights to a streaming-exclusive fourth season and film, with every episode to be released on the same day this May. Fans of shows like The Office and Community will love Arrested Development, and can catch up just in time for the new season this May.
Episodes To Watch: "Good Grief" "Mr. F"

1. Star Trek: The Original Series
If you're anything like me, you never really got the Star Trek craze until 2009 when J.J. Abrams' film made you wonder if maybe the show is worth a watch. Luckily, all 79 episodes and the unaired, Kirk-less pilot are available on Netflix, restored in high definition for your viewing pleasure. Star Trek is an amazing show, with incredible stories and characters on every episode. While the special effects may be a bit outdated, the cheesiness is actually what makes the show so great. Star Trek is a classic, and as soon as you start watching it, you'll immediately begin to realize how much of the show is actually referenced in today's pop culture. Once you've run through all 80 episodes, you can check out later iterations of the show, as they are all available on Netflix as well.
Episodes To Watch: "Arena" "The Trouble with Tribblers" "The Corbomite Maneuver"
